DetailsIn our lives the Hamsa hand has been a prevelant symbol that we have kept around our house.
Hamsa is an Arabic word that literally means "five", but also "the five fingers of the hand". It is a symbol that dates back to Mesopotamian times and is common throughout the Middle East and North Africa and used as a symbol of good luck, blessings and protection.
Our version of the Hamsa Hand is made from reclaimed wood. Each board is selected for the character of its grain and texture, and then artfully hand cut and sanded. We skillfully assemble and finish it with varnish to protect and highlight the wood tones.
As with all our wood good pieces, they are built with love and made to last. Each one we make will be uniquely beautiful but never the exactly the same.
This Hamsa Hand measures about 13.5 inches across and 14 inches tall.
It comes with a heavy wire on the back, and can be hung with fingers facing up or down.
